GoDaddy Registry has launched the Brand Safety Alliance (BSA), a new initiative that aims to increase collaboration between registries and create enhanced solutions for brand owners to protect their online identity.

GlobalBlock, its first new product is specifically designed to combat IP abuse.

In one simple transaction, GlobalBlock effectively blocks all available names that match the brand so no one else can register them, providing a new level of protection for brand owners.

General FAQ

How many years can I register GlobalBlock / GlobalBlock+ for?

• GlobalBlock / GlobalBlock+ can be activated for 1, 2, 3 years.

What is a BSA IPR?

• A BSA IPR (Intellectual Property Right) is required for all orders for GlobalBlock Services.

How do I obtain an IPR number?

• By submitting evidence to support your rights for verification. Once this is approved, an IPR will be generated to place the order.

Is a SMD File Accepted as a Verification Mechanism?

• Rights holders who have a valid Signed Mark Data (SMD) file issued by the Trademark Clearinghouse (TMCH) will not require a BSA IPR to be issued.

Can I delete domains I own to become part of my block?

• Once you purchase a GlobalBlock then any domain name currently registered will remain active until you either delete it or decide not to renew. Once the domain name is deleted, it will automatically be included in your GlobalBlock.

Please note that this fee is non-refundable, and there is no grace period.
