Please find in the following a set of the most commonly used standard API commands in order to register, modify, renew, and transfer a domain name.

Domain Registration

As of November 7, 2011, the registry provider for the ccTLD .ms will amend the registration policies enforcing registry activation and confirmation. On registration, the administrative contact (Admin-C) and registrant will receive two emails. One is a welcome message, the second is an activation email with a link that the recipient must click on to:

  • accept the TLD Registrant Agreement and AUP policy; and
  • confirm the validity of contact details.

On renewal or change of registrant the policy must again be accepted and the contact details confirmed within 21 days or the domain will be suspended.

Domain Transfer

  • A .ms domain transfer can be initiated with a so-called authorisation code, which can be obtained from the current registrar through the owner or Admin-C of the domain.
  • A .ms domain transfer can also be initiated without authcode. The losing registrar has to confirm or reject the transfer of the domain within 14 days. If the losing registrar does neither approve nor deny, the transfer will automatically be disapproved from the registry after 14 days.
  • A special transfer fee will be charged. The domain will NOT be renewed during the transfer process! The registration period will NOT be extended!
