Domain Restrictions
Pre-configured nameservers are required. See here for zonecheck.
Please find in the following a set of the most commonly used standard API commands in order to register, modify, renew, and transfer a domain name.
command = AddDomain
domain = yourdomain.lu
period = (INT)
ownercontact0 = (CONTACT)
admincontact0 = (CONTACT)
techcontact0 = (CONTACT)
billingcontact0 = (CONTACT)
nameserver0 = (NAMESERVER)
nameserver1 = (NAMESERVER)
command = ModifyDomain
domain = yourdomain.lu
command = TradeDomain
domain = yourdomain.lu
ownercontact0 = (CONTACT)
A change of the registrant for a .LU domain can be done through the webinterface or API. A trade is not free of charge. The domain will be renewed and the registration period starts from beginning. After the trade has been started the admin contact will receive a confirmation mail which he has to approve. A failed request for a change of registrant will be charged with a special fee.
As .lu domains can not be renewed explicitly. To renew a .lu domain you have to set the domain renewal mode or default renewal mode to "AUTORENEW" or "RENEWONCE".
COMMAND = DeleteDomain
DOMAIN = yourdomain.lu
command = TransferDomain
domain = yourdomain.lu
action = request
(optional)
nameserver0 = ...
nameserver1 = ...
After the transfer has been started the admin contact will receive a confirmation mail which he has to approve. A failed request for a domain transfer will be charged with a special fee. We recommend to add two nameservers within the TransferDomain command. The transfer will be processed as soon as it has been confirmed by the admin of the domain name.
command = RestoreDomain
domain = yourdomain.lu
Pre-configured nameservers are required. See here for zonecheck.
The following IDN scripts are supported by .lu.
Provide the LANGUAGE TAG corresponding to your desired IDN within the AddDomain command as X-IDN-LANGUAGE extension.
Get more information of "IDN tables", which represent permitted code points (letters) allowed for Internationalised Domain Name registrations in particular registries on IANA Repository of IDN Practices.

If the used name servers are not correctly configured, the AddDomain command will fail since the registry performs a DNS pre-check.
