Please find in the following a set of the most commonly used standard API commands in order to register, modify, renew, and transfer a domain name.

Please note: AddDomain is no longer available for .VN. Registrations have been disabled as of 18 June 2026.

After a successful registration of the domain, it will be transfer locked from the registry for a period of 60 days.

Domain Modification

The change of name servers is not free of charge! To change the name servers you have to accept a special parameter X-ACCEPT-NSCHANGE=1.

Change of registrant

Trades are currently only possible through our fulfillment team. You will receive the corresponding fee upon a request. Is currently not possible!

Domain Transfer

TransferDomain is not available for .info.vn TLDs.

Please note: Inbound transfers for .VN are no longer available as of 18 June 2026. Transfers via the fulfillment team are also no longer possible due to discontinuation of the transfer for this TLD.

Domain Extensions

X-ACCEPT-NSCHANGE0|1

Accept the fee charged for a name server update.
X-VN-OWNER-BIRTHDAYYYYY-MM-DD

Date of birth of the domain holder or legal representative in case of an organization
X-VN-OWNER-IDENTIFICATIONID / passport number of the domain holder for natural persons or VAT number for companies

Domain Restrictions

  • Pornographical or political domain names are forbidden by policy of the registry.
  • Registrations beneath the 2nd level .GOV.VN are limited to the Government of Vietnam
  • Registrations beneath the 2nd level .NAME.VN require the domain name to match the registrant's name and need the registrant to provide his ID as proof of identity
  • For companies, the full name of the legal representative: Automatically adopted from the owner contact (Important: Real name must be entered, NO role contact like "domain admin").
  • The change of name servers is NOT free of charge. To change the name servers you have to accept a special parameter "ACCEPT-NSCHANGE=1".
