• The owner (registrant) contact must be an Organization type, locally incorporated in Malaysia (country = MY). Admin, tech and billing extensions are still required at command level, but the registry uses the owner contact for all four roles.
• X-MY extensions are needed for each contact type (OWNER, ADMIN, TECH and BILLING) and only 2 of them are needed per contact, depending on whether the contact is an individual or an organization:
  • For Individuals, the extensions needed are X-MY-{TYPE}-DATEOFBIRTH and X-MY-{TYPE}-IDENTIFICATIONNUMBER (IC / Passport number).
  • For Organizations, the extensions needed are X-MY-{TYPE}-ORGANIZATION-TYPE and X-MY-{TYPE}-ORGANIZATION-REGISTRATION-NUMBER.{TYPE} = OWNER | ADMIN | BILLING | TECH
• Valid Organization Type (OTA) codes:
  • OTA000005 = Business
  • OTA000003 = Company
  • OTA000025 = Non Profit Organization
  • OTA000006 = Education
  • OTA000012 = Legal Professional
  • OTA000032 = Others

Change of registrant is now a direct contact-data update via ModifyDomain (no TradeDomain, no ICANN FOA, no additional cost). The new owner contact must be an Organization type, locally incorporated in Malaysia.

Domain Restore

After a 40 days renew grace period (RenewDomain is still accepted), there will be a 30 days redemption period where the RestoreDomain command is needed. After day 70 the domain is purged and unrecoverable.

Domain Restrictions

• A ‘live’ e-mail address (all communications from MYNIC will be via e-mail) is necessary.

.org.my supports three(3) scripts of IDN, which are Jawi, Chinese and Tamil.
