Please find in the following a set of the most commonly used standard API commands in order to register, modify, renew, and transfer a domain name.

• In order for registration to be complete, the registrant should click a link received via email. This should be done instantly, as the domain name is still available for registration until the validation process is completed.
  • The contact verification is valid for 24 hours, within this timeframe all addDomains with this contact handle will be registered immediately.

If the registrant / admincontact is an organization or company, the legal form has to be stated in the organization field.

Name server(s) are mandatory with the application or otherwise the application will time out.

org.il can only be deleted via the Renewalmode, please use autoexpire or autodelete.

If the registrant is an organization or company, the legal form in the contact handle of the owner has to be stated. It must exactly match the owner data of the whois.

If the domain is transferred from ISOC-IL, a document is necessary. Our fulfillment team will contact you in this case.

TransferOUT

Due to additions in the security requirements of ISOC, it is necessary that the email address of the registrant is reachable to be able to unlock the domain. Please clarify the status of the registrant’s email address prior to contacting the support team because they will ask you to do so, if not already done.

In order to update one of the registrant details, except the owner name, a written request is required in which they ask to update the registrant details(e.g. address/phone/email)

The request needs to be on company letterhead paper, signed with a company stamp and a signature from the owner as shown in a whois lookup is also required.

Domain Extensions

X-IL-ORGANIZATION-NUMBER	(INT) Organization number of the owner company.

Domain Restrictions

The owner (registrant) and admincontact of a .co.il domain name should be a legal entity‎ (could be a person, or a company or an association):

In case of a person, full name should be supplied (no abbreviations like J. Doe).‎

In case of a ‎company the relevant suffix such as “Ltd” (or “Inc”. “GMBH” etc.) should be ‎specified.

In case of a ‎registered association the suffix “RA” should be specified.

ISOC has added a new holder validation procedure(2022/02). They randomly select new domain registrations in order to validate registrant details. Both, the reseller and the holder will receive an email with the request to provide evidence of registrant details accuracies such as passport/ID/driver license copy, email validation, etc. 21 days time frame will be provided to complete the validation. After 21 days period, the domain will be deleted by the registry. No refund option will be applied.

If the registrant is a company or an association, they are asking for a company certificate.

If the registrant is a natural person, they are asking for a photo ID

Supported IDN Scripts

The following IDN scripts are supported by .org.il.
Provide the LANGUAGE TAG corresponding to your desired IDN within the AddDomain command as X-IDN-LANGUAGE extension.
