Important

Starting with 2025, IISE Registry is no longer requiring documents for Ownerchange, instead they are requiring the ICANN Ownerchange process. The process has been enabled, and it is built at CentralNic Reseller in the same way as for any other gTLD, with the exception that Designated Agent Mode is not accepted. Details can be found here.

The owner change process has adapted the FoA procedure, where an email will be sent to the current and future owner of the domain, who have to approve the owner change. If no agreement is given, the trade request expires after 10 days.

Authorization Codes

Starting June 1st, 2024, auth-codes can only be set by the registry. To request a new auth-code, please submit a ModifyDomain command with x-request-authcode = 1. Afterwards you can retrieve the new auth-code via a StatusDomain command.

New auth-codes have the format detailed below:

Please be aware that the whole string is needed as auth code.

Domain Extensions

X-NU-IIS-IDNO	Personal identification number, corporate identity number or registration designation in a governmental register. For contacts located in Sweden a valid Swedish ID number is necessary (e.g.: 123456-1234)
X-NU-IIS-VATNO	Valid VAT ID for companies.

Domain Restrictions

Any natural person or legal entity with a personal identification number or corporate identity number, or that can be identified via a registration designation in a register maintained by a governmental authority, or by an organization exercising state authority, may apply for registration of a domain name under the top-level domain .nu. For foreign domain holders, a unique identification number can be used instead.

• ID numbers need to be provided in their respectively correct formatting. This may vary by type and origin.

IDN Information

Valid IDN languages are languages regarding ISO-8859-1, Western European languages, with the exception of the Dutch “ij” ligature

Supported IDN Scripts

The following IDN scripts are supported by .nu.
Provide the LANGUAGE TAG corresponding to your desired IDN within the AddDomain command as X-IDN-LANGUAGE extension.
