X-TW-COMPANY-NUMBER only required if the owner is a company/organisation. For registrations with natural persons as owner, the extension is not mandatory.

Transfer notes

  • .com.tw domain transfer must be initiated with a valid "Authorization Code" that can be obtained from the current registrar through the owner or Admin-C of the domain.
  • Ensure that the respective domain does not have a lock-status (REGISTRAR-LOCK or HOLD).
  • Initiate the transfer on time and not just shortly before the domain expires. The domain must be older than 60 days or the last transfer must be more than 60 days ago, otherwise the transfer will be denied.
  • The transfer request is processed following a FOA handling: A notification e-mail will be sent to the registrant who must confirm the requested transfer. The transfer will only be processed after confirmation. Otherwise the transfer request expires.

  • A registration for .ORG.TW domains is now only possible for non profit organizations located in Taiwan. The only exception is for foreign non-profit organizations that provide supporting documentation of their non-profit status under the competent laws of their jurisdiction and if the Domain Name Committee of TWNIC approves such documentation.   • The registrant for a .COM.TW domain name must be a corporation registered under the Company Law or a business registered under the Commercial Entity Registration Law, or a foreign corporation registered under competent national or state laws. Also the registrant should provide true, complete and accurate information. The registrant will be asked to submit documentations for review when necessary.

  • Traditional Chinese characters only beneath .TW and not for Third-Level .TW domains.
