After a successful registration of the domain, it will be transfer locked from the registry for a period of 60 days.

Transfer Procedure

• The transfer is submitted to the registry and the losing registrar is automatically notified by them.
• The losing registrar sends an email to the owner (and optionally admin) contact, informing about the transfer; this may include options to approve and/or deny the transfer. If neither explicitly approved nor denied, the transfer will be automatically finalized after 5 days.

Transfer Notes

• A .barcelona domain transfer must be initiated with a so-called authorisation code, (auth-code) which can be obtained from the current registrar through the owner/admin contact of the domain.
• Ensure that your respective domain does not have a lock-status (clientTransferProhibited and/or serverTransferProhibited). This can be seen in WHOIS.
• If the domain has a client-side transfer lock, the owner can ask the current registrar to have the lock removed.

These procedures only apply for domain transfers between registrars. For internal transfers between resellers, please consult our documentation about internal transfers/usertransfers.

Auth-Codes

The format for auth info requires a minimum length of 8 characters and a maximum length of 32 characters.

Additionally, auth info must contain at least one of each of the following three character types:

• Alphabetic characters: a-z; A-Z
• Numeric characters: 0-9
• Special characters: !;<=$%?&@[()]*^+-,’-{.|/}:~

Domain Extensions

X-INTENDED-USE	* Statement of intended use for the domain name including explicit reference to the applicants’ claimed right to the name (if not the corporate name of the applicant) * For example, if the domain name matches a trademark, the TM number must be provided * max. 256 characters

Domain Restrictions

RSP will ensure through it’s Registration Agreement that the registrants acknowledge and agree, that the RNH has a Nexus with the .barcelona community. To register and renew a .barcelona domain name you must be an individual or a legal entity with a nexus to the .barcelona community. This nexus means that you must be linked to the community at the time of registration and thereafter on a linguistic, cultural, tourism, commercial basis, or any other activity conducive to the welfare of the .barcelona community.

Registrants are required to state the intended use for the registered domain name. A false statement of intended use is an indication of bad faith and may be the basis for the suspension of the domain name.

RSP will ensure through it’s Registration Agreement that the registrants acknowledge and agree, that the RNH does not register geographical names for any subdivision of the area of influence of Barcelona, local landmarks, and other locally-relevant and iconic names in the area of influence of Barcelona, including clear variations and abbreviations thereof.

RSP will ensure through it’s Registration Agreement that the registrants acknowledge and agree, that the RNH does not register Names of Public Authorities and Public Services. RNH must not register:

• a) Names of Public Authorities at any level with competence over the area of influence of Barcelona according to applicable local law.
• b) Names directly related to public service or public interest for which Public

Administrations in the area of influence of Barcelona have specific responsibilities.

Provide the LANGUAGE TAG corresponding to your desired IDN within the AddDomain command as X-IDN-LANGUAGE extension.
